The Golden Coast

Explore the area

CyclingWhilst there are plenty of opportunities to cycle along the coast itself, some of the best trails are slightly inland.

In addition to the National Cycle Network (Route 4), Community Routes offer the best off-road and safest cycling around the area.

The station at Tondu is an ideal place to start as many routes pass right by it, including:

The Ogmore Valley Cycle Route 13 km (8 mile)
This trail runs from the outskirts of Bridgend to Nantymoel.  En route why not visit Tondu Iron Park, which has a cycling centre within its grounds.

The Garw Valley Community Route] 13 km (8 mile)
This trail takes you from Bryngarw Country Park, Brynmenyn through to Blaengarw.

Cefn Cribwr and Pyle Community Route 4km (25 mile)
Takes riders from the National Cycle Network, via Bedford Park to the Frog Pond Wood Local Nature Reserve, passing through Kenfig Hill.
